Traditional social networks like Facebook and Instagram often fail to provide an experience aligned with Christian principles and values. With this in mind, Lagoinha Church — a Baptist denomination founded in 1957, with over 600 churches in more than 20 countries and 100,000 members — conceived Dovegram.
The platform was created to provide a unique social network experience for its members and for Christians across other denominations.


Challenges
One of the greatest challenges in building a niche social network is delivering a user experience comparable to major platforms — which operate at a significantly larger technological investment scale. Overcoming this barrier required a creative, user-journey-centered approach.

Understanding the user journey
Building a product inspired by references like Facebook and Instagram requires deep understanding of user needs and expectations. We used Design Thinking processes to map the user journey, identifying what truly adds value.
Creating solution hypotheses
Based on this understanding, our teams created innovative solutions and ideas to shape features and strategies that would genuinely impact users.
Prototyping & testing
We built prototypes and presented them to potential users — letting them interact with the solution. This process identified strengths, areas for improvement, and the most valued features.
Iterating
We repeated ideation, prototyping, and validation cycles as many times as needed, refining the product until reaching a final prototype with a high probability of success — ready for development.
Planning
We translated the validated prototype into a detailed plan of epics and features, organizing deliverables with a focus on timelines and budgets.
Development
We adopted agile methodologies, structuring development in two-week sprints. Using Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) tools, we ensured organization and transparency throughout.
Launch
After four months of work, Dovegram was launched at a global Lagoinha Church event in Brazil. The launch had a major impact — with over 40,000 users joining the platform in the first weeks.
Support
A software product doesn't stop after launch. We allocated a dedicated team to monitor, update, and implement continuous improvements, keeping pace with environmental changes and new client demands.
