Legacy Challenges

In the private pension segment, Conduent has established itself as one of the leading providers of Business Process Outsourcing (BPO). Its system, developed organically over time, was shaped by immediate demands from clients and internal teams, favoring quick solutions that fueled the company’s growth.

 

However, this rapid growth brought significant technical challenges, including increased system complexity and a problem-solving capacity that fell short of rising demands. This situation compromised the business’s scalability and put the retention of strategic clients at risk.

Our Approach

VX had two clear missions upon being hired: in the short term, to stabilize the level of technology service; and in the medium and long term, to reshape Conduent’s technology base. A key focus was the commitment to preserving existing operations, requiring close collaboration between teams from both companies to ensure strategic alignment and achieve the expected results.

Implementation of Agile methodology

The adoption of agile methodologies brought agility and efficiency by prioritizing actions and optimizing communication between technical and business teams. This integration reduced barriers, facilitated problem-solving, and promoted a more collaborative and results-oriented coexistence. The alignment of expectations and greater predictability in each delivery reinforced productivity and focus on strategic objectives.

Impact-based prioritization

Using a GUT matrix, we identified and prioritized the issues with the greatest impact on customers and the business. This approach made it possible to align expectations with customers and establish clearer and more realistic communication.

Technical deepening and diagnosis

By deepening technical and managerial understanding, we structured teams more effectively, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and qualifications. This comprehensive diagnosis allowed us to create sustainable strategies for the continuous evolution of the system.

NextGen Project

Based on detailed analytical mapping, the need to develop a new product was identified, internally named NextGen. This solution was designed with a modern approach, using microservices and a multitenant architecture, eliminating redundancies and optimizing operational costs. The strategy resulted in a highly flexible, scalable and adaptable solution to the demands of different customers, allowing agile and customized implementations to meet specific scenarios.

NextGen was more than a technological upgrade for Conduent; it paved the way for new business opportunities. With a clear and innovative vision for the future, the system attracted large and growing customers, strengthening the company’s competitiveness in the market and creating new strategic business opportunities.

Results and Support

In 2024, we delivered critical modules such as Membership, Simulator, Loans and Benefits. These solutions already benefit strategic clients, with expansion planned for other clients in 2025. In addition, the structuring of new processes increased the efficiency of software development, generating permanent impacts on Conduent's productivity.

Internationalization and Expansion

The success of the project in Brazil caught the attention of Conduent’s global management, resulting in the transfer of contract management to the United States. This move opens doors to new international opportunities and reinforces VX’s potential for expansion into other markets and segments.
